Paulo's Report About Cabochons

I drew an oval around a slab of onyx.

 

I cut off as much excess material as possible.

I used a sharpie to make marks.

 

Then I put it on a dop stick.  

Then I cut barely over it using a coarse saw.  Then it came out almost oval but not yet smooth.  

I used a finer saw to make it into a smooth oval shape.  To avoid flat spots, I kept the rock moving.

Then I polished it using a polisher.

 

Right after polishing, I put the dop stick along with the cab stuck to it into the freezer.

 

  The cab came off . . . .
